This residence in Sands Point stands as a testament to how finely tuned a residence can be for a family, while stll achieving a level of appropriate size and dimension that speaks volumes about an architect's ability to manage a large project. This residence stretches beyond 125 feet in width and comes in at over 9,700 square feet of space, while also incorporatng into the design 5 baths, 6 bedrooms, a master bedroom suite, a gym, a 3 car garage, a formal living and a great room that measures approximately 20' x 27', a gallery, a library and finally a grand staircase that marks a true home of architectural grandeur. With dimensional roofing, shingle siding and a base that is composed of stone, the exterior facade on all sides creates a great visual display of material knowledge and combinaton. A wide front entrance along with an oscillatng formal facade, coupled with gentle roof pitches forms a well-married geometric design. Interior wise, great detail was used for the staircase, as well as the furnishings inside, with wall sconces that illuminate the great depth of each room, while fireplaces add wonderful detail to the living room. In total, the project is a stand-alone testament to how great the work of James Thomas Martno can reach when coupled with a good client and a right locaton and atenton to detail.
