The NRAD Center in Garden City, New York is the flagship facility for the Nassau Radiological Group, P.C. and stands out beyond the basic shopping center architecture that surrounds this office building near Roosevelt Field. The modernist design of the building incorporates true modern vignetes: the pilots that separates the office from the ground floor in both a visually and pragmatc way, the geometries of the front atrium that extends out beyond the square frame of the building, combining the linear with the curvilinear, and finally incorporatng into the design handrails, a facade color scheme and cladding that all call upon many masters of modernist design. Organizaton wise, the building utlizes the maximum amount of space alloted to the ground level for parking, a valuable commodity near Roosevelt Field and for such a busy business. Additonally, offices are mixed on the first and second floors with 15,000 square feet of proper facilites such as working cubicles, secretary accommoda-tons and exam rooms.
