This project served as a proposal for a client that turned into a homage to one of societes greatest beacons of architectural design, the architect Richard Meier. The intenton of this project was to renovate a non-descript 1950’s style one-story ranch home into an architectural statement on par with the great modern residental designs of the 20th century. One of the intentons of the client was to gain access to his swimming pool by virtue of an independent vertcal circulaton element from the second floor. Therefore there was a need to juxtapose the freestanding vertcal element with the main residence. Interior wise, a great open atrium stretches vertcally through the living room, invitng large gatherings of people, while on the exterior, a small sequestered platorm hosts a single person in a moment of solitude. The exterior skin is clad with white aluminum panels with a stone base and sleek railings.
